Creative Editing of Speeches, I Have an Idea

September 30, 2008 by: dave

I am getting a bit tired of political ads that edit the opponent's speech down to part of a sentence, making it sound like they said something they didn't. Both parties are guilty of it, but it seems McCain's campaign is going for broke on it making it sound like Obama said the fundamentals of the economy are strong, which he did not say. So I have an idea.

Phoenix Metro Had the Lowest Percentage of Viewers of the First Debate

September 29, 2008 by: dave

My fellow Valley of the Sun citizens. YOU PEOPLE SUCK. Why is it that you didn't watch? Are you already going to vote for McCain and don't care otherwise? Is it that you are not voting for him and don't care? Is it that you want him out of Phoenix, and thats why you are going to vote for him? Why? Why, did you have to be the number 1 most ignorant state in the union? Ugh, I need to move... I'm developing a dent in the wall where I keep banging my head.

Brag Brag Brag, Why is McCain not Bragging about Failure?

September 29, 2008 by: dave

I find it funny sometimes how politics has almost no accountability. McCain for two weeks has been claiming how important he would be and is to the bailout bill process. He even took the laughable bullshit action of "suspending his campaign", which of course never actually happened. But right up until the vote today, he was claiming credit for the success of this bill. Oh John, where for art thou? Seems your team didn't follow your coaching all that well.

Partisanship is a two way street, part 2

Barney Frank just said the same thing as me, though a bit more eloquently, and with more teeth:

Partisanship is a two way street

September 29, 2008 by: dave

So the current news that America is going to hell in a handbasket, and the failure of the house to pass a bailout package, of course results in epic grandstanding and blamestorming. The issue I am having is with a particular thing, partisanship.

Why are the Bailout Talks not Public?

September 28, 2008 by: dave

This bickering back and forth, and the He Said She Said garbage of the two parties is getting stupid, as usual. Why are the talks no public? They are not talking about anything classified. They are talking about how to spend OUR money. I think I should have a right to hear that conversation. Obviously I want to hear it because I want to know who is actually being helpful and who is hindering, but many would actually care about the details of the deal working. Just have wondered, why is CSPAN in the Senate and House, airing everything all the time, but not in a meeting of this magnitude?

Congrats China on Their First Spacewalk

September 28, 2008 by: dave

Yes, the US and Russia have already been there done that. But still, it should not diminish the accomplishment, like so many blogs seem to be doing. The video itself is about as riveting as watching a wax painting melt, but none the less, you can feel the pride in the play by play in the background announcer's voice. Good for them. Congratulations China on your first space walk. Please don't nuke us or stake a claim on the moon.

Sort of Safe for Work Porn

September 28, 2008 by: dave

EL OH EL. This ranks a 1 nostril drink squirt from your nose. Though technically it is safe for work, you might want to make sure noone is looking over your shoulder... Rotoscoping is fun!
