I thought McCain's concession speech was quite good. The booing in the audience is understandable, though a bit sore loserish, but still understandable. I found it interesting immediatly after though, the interviews of assorted black leaders. Although this election should not have been about race, it of course figured into it for some, either way. But regardless, it is a big moment for black americans.
It is a moment that shows that the majority of this country is ready to move forward, not just from segregation, but into true equality. Trusting our future, to a black man. To me, it was never an issue, but to many it was. Yet they have moved past that and elected the first black President. Just think for a second about that. Just 40 years ago segregation still existed in parts of the south. People who fought for rights did not ever dream of a black president in their lifetime, yet it happened. America, you have reinstilled my belief in you regarding race. I felt you could do it, and hoped, but did not expect, and you delivered.
