Registerfly ship goin down
March 08, 2007 by: daveSo If you own any domains at registerfly.com get out. Abandon ship. whoop whoop whoop. Abandon ship! For some more up to date information go to registerflies and read up. The short version is, 3 partners, 1 went bonkers, started stealing and monkeying with the system by doing things such as corrupting data. Of course these are the allegations of the other 2 partners. Apparently the FBI has been involved, so has ICANN (which apparently should be named ICANNT). There was a court hearing today, and the idiot judge (Judge Peter Sheridan) decided in the favor of the guy committing the crimes.
Whether its true or not, I don't care. But frankly I have a few domains with them, some of which are important, that I cannot get out because of the AUTHCODEs not being available and no way to get them because of lack of tech support. Basically, your domains are possibly hostage if you have any there.
My suggestion is to screen grab your domains list page and make sure that all your domains have real contact info and turn off privacy so that the whois history systems like whois.sc can get a record of it. Otherwise you might have absolutly no way to recover your domains. Who knows though. If you can, get out, and good luck.
