Uncanny Valley is almost Crossed

August 21, 2008 by: dave

There is still something just ever so slightly 'uneasy' about this video, however, with maybe a beer or two, i don't think you would be able to tell she is not real. Emily was produced using a new modelling technology that enables the most minute details of a facial expression to be captured and recreated. Image Metrics produced the animation for Grand Theft Auto but has now taken it about 500 steps further in their animation and modelling research as you can see in the video. Just watch it, and try not to utter a holy crap!
